Infection is spread through direct contact during genital, oral or anal sex with an infected partner. Gentile warts are easily recognized sign of genital HPV infection. Almost every people in the world who acquire those strains never develop warts or any other symptoms. HPV also causes many cases of cervical cancer.
Genital warts can be remove by treatments but the virus may remain present for a longer period. Warts may or may nor return after treatment. Immune system fights the virus. Almost 70% of HPV infections clear within one year and 91% clear within two years.
